Youth Sports Program Goals and Objective Statement
The YMCA Blazers Basketball Team will provide competitive basketball learning experience for participants who have completed the team skill requirement level at the YMCA Programs or equivalent training
- To learn and acquire advanced basketball skills.
- To encourage a positive lifestyle that will continue into adulthood and develop positive self-esteem.
- To develop sportsmanship and promote healthy competition among team members and other teams.
- To develop a positive team spirit and work together.
- To have fun!
Blazers Basketball Season
The official YMCA Blazers team season for 2022-2023 will being on March 1st, 2022, and end on February 28th, 2023.
Program Paperwork
To be a member of the YMCA Blazers Basketball team, the individual must complete the following steps before March 31st for yearly participants and for season participants one into the season.
- The player must be a youth or family member of the Meadville Family YMCA. The YMCA membership must be complete and on file and membership fees must be current by paying the fees in full or monthly bank draft or credit card payment plan.
- Team Registration forms must be complete and on file. The registration packet includes:
- Program Fee Agreement and Registration Fee
- Informed Consent Form
- Supplemental Authorization and Required Signatures
- Emergency Treatment Form
- Parent Statement of Understanding
- Parent/Player Contract
- Payment Agreement must be filled out and up to date as follows:
- Yearly/Seasonal Gym Fee
- $50/month auto draft
- $200/ season paid in full
- Yearly/Seasonal Gym Fee
Basketball fees must be paid, in accordance with your agreed payment outline, in a timely manner according to the Basketball Team agreement Form or plater will be terminated from the team. All players are required to be in good standing with their basketball YMCA member dues and YMCA basketball team fees to play.

- Each tournament a player participates in will be a $30 Fee
- Non-tournament games are at no extra cost

Practice Rules

- Practice start times are
- 6:00-7:30 Grades 4-6
- 7:30-9:00 Grades 7-10
- Belongings must be placed in assigned Family Locker Room Locker only water is allowed in the gym.
- Food is not permitted in the gym area
- Book bags are not permitted in the gym
- Players are responsible for disponing of their trash at the end of each practice.
- The use of cell phones is not permitted in the restroom or the gym area.
- Players must always treat coaching staff with respect.

Disciplinary Actions
The Basketball Coaches are responsible for any disciplinary action regarding program participants.
- Warning 1
- Warning 2-Informing parent of concern
- Warning 3- Parent meeting and participant for corrective action.
- Suspension of practice or game
- Dismissal from program
- Program and membership fee refund will not be given due to any disciplinary action taken
