Linesville: Assistant Cook

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements.
high quality YMCA childcare program(s).

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of one year experience as a cook
  2. Ability to plan cost effective and nutritious meals.
  3. Must Complete all Standard Child Care Requirements
    1. To pass an annual physical examination.
    2. Bi-annual Mantoux Tine Test.
    3. Act 33/34 Clearances.
    4. Six clock hours of DPW-Approved Child Care Training annually.
    5. Annual training in first aid, water safety and fire safety.
    6. CPR certification within 90 days.
    7. Participation in outdoor and indoor activities.
    8. May be required to have a Pennsylvania driver’s license.
    9. Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds.
    10. Must be 18 years old or enrolled in a qualifying training program.
    11. High School Diploma or GED.

Pay: $9.00-$12.38

Linesville: Summer Camp Staff

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a seasonal day camp. Creates positive, nurturing relationships with children, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. Promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall camp experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred for minimum DHS requirements

2. AA or CDA preferred mandated by STARS

3. Previous experience working with children preferably in a day camp setting

4. Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc…

5. At least 18 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law and YMCA policies.)

6. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.

Downtown: Pre-K Counts Assistants

The Pre-K Counts Assistant will work closely with the Pre-K Counts Director to provide a high-quality, developmentally appropriate early childhood education program for four-year-old children from low-income families. The Pre-K Counts Assistant will be responsible for implementing and supporting the daily activities and curriculum, as well as fostering positive relationships with families and community partners.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:  Required – A minimum of a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in Preschool Education.

Or Associates Degree in Preschool Education or higher

Preferred Additional Qualifications:  2 or more years’ experience in ECE program

Knowledge & Skill Required: Proven leadership abilities. Creativity in teaching, team management, Classroom management

Internship

Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May complete duties related to window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities. 

Qualification:

  1. Six months or more of related experience preferred.
  2. Ability to read and interpret instruction, procedures, manuals, and other documents. 
  3. Ability to report and record maintenance request.
  4. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. 
  5. Basic understanding of the upkeep ad care of equipment. 
  6. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. 

Pay: $9.50-$13.30

Hours: 20 Hours Per Week
