Essential Functions

  1. Ensure Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. Personal Trainer

Part Time Program Coordinator

Essential Functions:

1. Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.

2. Recruits and retains members and program participants across multiple dimensions of diversity for successful programming. Onboards and develops them for success.

4. Essential Functions:

Internship responsibilities may vary by department but can include:

Kitchen Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
To assist the Food Service Manager and Cook in preparing and serving nutritious meals and in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dishwashing area.
Assist in the daily operations of the camp food service.
  • Assist in the preparation of food as the menu indicates including washing and peeling.
  • Set up food, supplies, and utensils for dining hall distribution.
  • Store food and leftovers at proper temperature.
  • Assist in routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment.
  • Clean and maintain all food-preparation and storage areas.
  • Wash all dishes, serving and preparation equipment, and utensils according to regulated washing methods and temperatures.
  • Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as indicated through the camp’s procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and packaging of food for use outside the camp dining hall.
  • Work with cooks and other staff in reviewing pack out requests to ensure adequate and accurate amounts and variety.
  • Prepare and store pack out food according to camp and health code procedures.
  • Advise staff on equipment or preparation materials needed for identified menu choices.

Building Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Adheres to all branch/department policies and procedures related to safety and code of conduct.
  2. Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures for the facility and act responsibly in emergencies.
  3. Actively patrol all areas of the YMCA and record times and observations at designated checkpoints. Assist with programming assignments as needed.
  4. Responsible for assisting in programming to ensure member and program satisfaction.
  5. Ensures safety of staff, members or volunteers when entering or exiting the facility. May entail walking staff, member, or volunteers to their cars.
  6. Complete and be accountable for all accident/incident reports. Reports must be accurate, consistent and must be submitted to an appropriate supervisor.  Communicate all accident and discipline situations (corrective counseling form).  If severity of the accident/incident warrants immediate attention, contact via pagers or phone the appropriate professional staff member.
  7. Responsible for promoting and incorporating YMCA core values and character development in program area.
  8. Secure the entire facility before leaving at night, ensuring that appropriate lights, windows, and doors are closed. Adhere to the building hours and the closing after members have had appropriate time to exit the building.
  9. Always remain accessible through established communications systems during shifts.
  10. Adhere to established dress code, always wearing YMCA staff shirt and nametag. Always maintain a professional demeanor.

Property Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provides overall coordination of facility and vehicle maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  2. Supervision of Custodial and Maintenance staff.
  3. Ensures that assigned vehicles and other equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  4. Anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before taking action.
  5. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.
  6. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  7. Prepares budgets and interprets balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and forecasts to support the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitor expenditures.
  8. Identifies and mitigates significant business, financial, and operating risks and advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
  9. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff and volunteers. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  10.  Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.
  11. Ensure a safe working environment for the maintenance staff. Provide training, evaluate work habits and follow proper guidelines for accident prevention.
  12. Maintains facility, equipment and vehicle log books.
  13. Develops budgets supporting the preventative annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.

  17. Updates facility plans periodically. Develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA’s strategic plan and community needs.
  18. Will have a semi-annual evaluation.
  19. Supports the YMCA annual campaign.
  20. Will complete in house trainings withing 6 months of hire. Well complete Team Leader Certification withing 3 years of hire. Will continue with YUSA training requirements throughout career.
  21. Will acquire CPR/First aid withing 90 days of hire.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent or 2-3 years equivalent experience.
  • YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in facility management or closely related field.
  • CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
  • Boiler knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
