This is an introduction to the YMCA

Competitive MYST Swim Team

ALL swimmers ages 5 & up ...

10 week session includes:

1 night practice per week (10 weeks)

6 "Meets" (weeks 4-9)

1 League Championship Meet (week 10)

Cost $55 YMCA Members

$70 Non-members

Begins week of October 3rd

Benefits of Mini Mako Swim League:

In-house competition, no traveling

Intro to competitive swimming

All swim levels welcome

Floatation belts will be used if necessary

Entry level swimmers will compete in shallow waters

Introduction to Competitive Team

Ages 5 - 18

(YMCA Minnow level or above)


Season Starts September 19th

Runs through mid February

Practices at the Meadville Area Rec. complex

Tuesday and Thursday

6 - 6:45 PM

Compete with MYST Team in home meets against other

YMCA Swim Teams


Compete in Meadville Championship Meet with MYST Team and Mako League

It is all about Fun, Friendships, Team and Individual IMPROVEMENTS!

The Meadville YMCA Swim Team (MYST) is a competitive swim team comprised of youth ages 5 through high school.  The mission of MYST is to allow each swimmer the opportunity to achieve his/her maximum potential in competitive swimming and to contribute to team excellence.

Swim meets help children and young adults learn sportsmanship and discipline while helping to develop athleticism and competitiveness.  Meets are held on Saturdays with other area YMCA teams in the league.  Swim practices and all home meets are held at the MARC.

Begins September 19th

Practices are Monday through Thursday 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

EXTRAS

  • The MYST team will conduct an Intramural Meet in which the Senior Swimmers do a close-door draft and coach the event.  It is a lot of fun and a good learning experience for our swimmers.

Coach Laura Singo is the YMCA Aquatics Director and has been involved in YMCA swimming for 12 years.  She Graduated from Edinboro University with a degree in Heath and Physical Education and a Minor in Coaching.  Coach Laura knows the commitment level needed by both the swimmer and their family to achieve the full benefits of the YMCA program.
